TERMITE INSPECTION

The first step in protecting your home from the costly damage caused by termites and other wood destroying organisms is a full termite inspection.

While many people only think about termite inspections when they see termite damage or need an inspection for a Real Estate transaction or home loan refinancing, it’s smart to have your home or commercial building inspected for termites at least once every one to three years tops in southern California.

During the termite inspection we look for any accessible evidence of termites or other wood destroying organisms such as carpenter ants, wood boring beetles, wood fungus, and dry rot.

The inspector is required to report all evidence of these organisms, damage caused by these organisms, and any conditions on your property that might create a vulnerability to these organisms.

Our Termite Inspection Process is easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Call our office during business hours (760) 610-6611 to request an inspection.
  2. One of our highly-trained inspectors will come out at a time convenient to you and do a thorough inspection of your home. The inspection includes probing the eves and other accessible wood members of the home, walking around the exterior and through the interior of the home, as well as climbing up into the attic and crawling into any accessible subareas of the home.
  3. Once the inspection is completed, our representative will go over your options for treatment with you and provide you with a detailed termite report that includes a diagram of the termite evidence and damage as well as an estimate for the termite treatments and any needed repairs.

Termite Treatment & Fumigation

At Cartwright Termite & Pest Control, we offer several treatment options to protect your property from termites depending on your specific situation and preferences. For Drywood Termites we have four different treatment options.

Standard Drywood Termite Treatment

Our standard treatment involves injecting infested wood with Termidor SC and spraying Nisus Bora-Care on all exposed wood in the attic. Termidor SC is a slow-acting termiticide that takes advantage of termites’ social nature to wipe out the entire colony. Nisus Bora-Care is borate-salt that protects the wood and kills any termites that attempt to eat the treated wood.

GREEN Drywood and Subterranean Termite Treatment

Our green Drywood and Subterranean Termite treatment is similar to our standard treatment except that we replace Termidor SC with Altriset. Both Altriset and Bora-Care are green products that are highly effective at eradicating termites and also provide excellent environmental profiles.

Bora-Care termite prevention with Pretreatments

The active ingredient in Bora-Care is a borate salt that works by taking advantage of the biology of termites, ants and other insects. It has the longest lasting residual on the pesticide market. Once a termite ingests borate salt it becomes unable to extract nutrition from its food and starves to death. If applied to the structure and foundation during construction, Bora-Care is highly effective at protecting the structure from both Drywood Termites and Subterranean Termites. Bora-Care is an excellent green product that is not harmful to the environment. The Bora-Care Pretreatment comes with a 3-year warranty if applied to a open framed structure. Bora-Care also prevents/fights against fungi, dry-rot, carpenter ants, and wood beetles

Tent Fumigation

Fumigation is highly effective at eradicating Drywood Termites in a structure. It is a three-day process that requires temporarily moving out of the home while the home is tented and fumigated. We provide “fume bags” for consumable items that need to be sealed from the gas and we show you exactly what must be bagged and how to properly seal the bags.

We take every effort to minimize any damage caused by the tenting process. However, it’s important to know that tent fumigation may kill plants that are located close to the structure and must be covered by the tent. Additionally, tile roofs can experience damage from the weight of the tent and the fumigation crews walking on the roof. If you have a satellite dish, it may need to be temporarily taken down and re-installed by your dish provider.

Subterranean Termite Treatment

Treating your home for Subterranean Termites involves digging trenches around the home and boring holes in concrete pads and walkways to saturate the soil around the foundation of the home with Termidor H.E. or Altriset with long lasting residuals!

The treatment also involves saturating the soil in any subareas of the structure with Termidor H.E. and spraying the exposed wood in the attic with Bora Care. Termidor H.E. is a High efficiency termiticide that requires less water, helps improve the dispersal of the active ingredient, and creates and enhanced protection zone with a long lasting residual.

Termite and Fungus Damage Repairs

Termites create hollow pockets in wood and fungus can make the wood soft and weak. If the termite inspection discovers damage caused by wood destroying organisms, we can provide you with an estimate to repair the damage. We have repair crews with expensive experience in this type of damage repair.

Termite Treatment Warranties

Our standard warranty for termite treatments is a 2 year Full Property warranty with Full localized treatments or fumigation. The warranty includes free yearly re-inspections of the property and free retreats if needed.

We also offer an extended warranty through our renewal program. The extended warranty is based on the square footage of the structure.

If the homeowner requests spot treatment of a localized termite infestation, we provide a 6-month warranty that only covers the areas that were treated.
